The Celtic Owl

Sculptures in ancient bogwood 5000 years old. These beautiful oak trees grew thousands of years ago on the Irish landscape. They lay hidden under the bogs for thousands of years and brought to the surface through turf production. We ‘save’ the timber when exposed to the elements on the bogland; we take it into our workshop and dry slowly over two years .When it’s at 10% moisture we can then carve into sculptures.
An owl is to the night as an eagle is to the day. Owls are generally a symbol of paranormal wisdom, regal silence, and fierce intelligence. This is because owls are both great thinkers and
hunters; they prefer to plan out their strategies instead of using brute force.
While some cultures believe owls to be magicians or heralds of death, the white owl symbolizes wisdom and endurance
